Science, Biology and Geography- Teacher development courses.

The courses below are offered to teachers from schools in the Bangalore area. Please contact us if you would like to send a group of teachers to us for a day of teacher development activities on the subjects below:

  • Biology excellence the classroom- Quality delivery through student engagement within the subject. Biology- Secondary. (Ongoing- Please email us to book a day.)


  • Enquiry and Scientific enquiry- The empirical method and practical examples in Biology. Biology- Secondary


  • Forest school taster sessions. What is "forest school" and what sort of activities does it involve? Learning from the outdoors. Cross curricular- Primary.


  • The use of learning objects and artefacts in the classroom to enhance learning interest and involvement. History/ Geography/ Social science. Primary and Secondary


  • Learning from the outdoors- how to use your learning space as a place for development of ideas and interest. Primary education.


  • The use of enquiry questions in social science- how can questioning bring a subject alive for your students? History/ geography/Social science- Primary.



  • Images and photographs- How can we use images and photos to learn about localities and distant places? Social science. Primary and Secondary.


  • Participatory learning techniques. A workshop for developing ideas for how to teach by involvement and participation. Primary and Secondary education.


  • Art and craft in the curriculum: A workshop to explore how techniques of art and craft can be used to develop children's understanding of the concepts of other curricular subjects. Primary education.

Imogen Sahi is the course leader for these courses. She works closely with each school and their curriculum to plan and deliver a training programme which meets the needs of your school and its curriculum.

At the end of the course the teachers are requested to form a learning group for feedback, self assessment, peer observation, and delivery of the learning achieved.
